Biography
Cosimo Maria Palopoli is an italian artist, musician and entrepreneur. Founder, president, and CEO of IUV, a chemical company operating in the bioplastics sector.
A graduate in Food Technology from the University of Florence and in Food Science and Technology from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, cum laude, Palopoli is an award-winning entrepreneur and speaker oriented toward topics ranging from innovation to sustainability and new business models.
During his long career track, Palopoli has provided insight and expertise through consultancy in concept innovations, POC and MVP, in green business for food and non-food MNCs, global listed firms and SMEs.
He gained at the age of six a strong feeling for music. After classical training at the Mabellini Academy, he devoted himself as a self-taught composer and producer of film, contemporary and pop music. His music has been appreciated in numerous international competitions. He has participated in numerous events, including Italia's Got Talent, and arranged original music for Dora Donarelli, an Italian theater director. His music can be described as emotional contemporary classical. It was first collected in the Album: Equilibrium, presented for Pistoia Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2017.
During his intense research and design of functional objects and artifacts Cosimo Maria Palopoli discovers the alchemical transformative properties of the elements of matter. In them he investigates and explores new forms of language and dialogue trespassing into art. He experiments, creates, (s)composes by making works and installations through waste and organic bioplastic materials.
Each work aims to open a bridge of connection and dialogue between nature and man. With the aim of reintegrating its ancestral primitive link of existence: Inhabiting the Earth. In the maieutic process of rediscovery, the reader is guided through an inspiring muse, Sustainability. It accompanies the viewer by shaking its consciousness, through the attentive gaze of images with strong evocative power, in the face of modernity gone mad, contemporary capitalism, climate change, making it, therefore, aware of its relationship to the Planet.
Cosimo describes himself as a person who is extremely curious, engaging, critical and eager for continuous improvement. With strong communication skills, flexible, highly adaptable, and temperamentally oriented to precision, perfection, and results. Attentive to the world around him and highly ambitious.
Interested in cases involving environment, arts and culture, animal welfare, civil-human rights, politics, science and technology.
Milestones achieved
At the age of just 24, he created and patented "the Plastic you Eat," EP3721721A1.
In 2019, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he represents Italy for Innovation in Tokyo.
In 2021 he is honored by Forbes, in the Top 100 Forbes Under 30 Italy 2021 and Top 30 Forbes Under 30 Europe 2021 list, among the most influential talents and leaders Under 30 for the Manufacturing & Industry category; and the youngest Italian, also in the same year, to delegate and represent Italy at the Food Summit for the UN, and to be interviewed by Rai 1 director Monica Maggioni together with the Honorable, Former Minister of Agriculture of Italy and FAO Secretary Maurizio Martina, Chef Cristina Bowerman and Coldiretti President Ettore Prandini.

In 2022 Cosimo Maria Palopoli was named Inventor of the Year 2023 by European Patent Office (EPO) and new revelation Young Global Leaders 2023, per the World Economic Forum.
In 2023 he is called as an official keynote speaker and testimonial of excellence, among the most influential European leaders in the field of sustainability for EIIS - European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability, in Rome.
In the same year he was listed by Fortune Italy in the 40 Under 40 ranking for Top Manager category.
